William Ezra Gardners was the son of Joseph Wheatley Gardner and Elizabeth, nee Bennett. He was born in 1830 and was baptised at StWil Andrew's Church, Aston Subedge on 2nd January 1831. In the church register he is named as Esra William and his father's occupation is 'Dealer'.
William was married four times and was obviously a bit of a 'catch' because no sooner had one wife died than he married the next.
1851 - William married ELIZA HORSMAN in St Andrew's, Bordsley Warwickshire on 27th February 1854. In the parish register William is listed as a Carpenter and his father Joseph as a Farmer. William and Eliza had one daughter, Ada, who was born in 1856.
1861 - William is listed in the census as a carpenter and joiner and Eliza as a School Mistress
1871 - William is now a Poultry Dealer and the family are living in Aston Subedge
1875 - Eliza dies
1876 - William married CHRISTIANA PARSONAGE, my Great Great Grandmother
1877 - Ellen Eliza is born
1878 - William Harry is born
1880 - Frank John is born
1881 - William is listed in the Census as a Cattle Dealer and the family are living in Village Road, Aston Subedge
1885 - Selina is born
1891 - William is listed in the Census as a Pig and Poultry Dealer
1895 - Christiana died
1896 William marries ELIZABETH TANNER and they have two boys
1897 - William Archibald Clarence is born
1900 - Stanley Trevor is born
1901 - William is now a widower living on the High Street, Chipping Campden with his tow youngest sons and a housekeep Mary Cartright.
1902 - William married his housekeeper MARY ELIZABETH TARPLEE CARTRIGHT
1911 - The family are living back in Aston Subedge and William is a Pig and Poultry Dealer
1917 William dies and is buried in Aston Subedge on the 17th January.
